HOW IT WORKS:
We have step-by-step documentation that goes into more detail, but here’s the gist of what you can expect.
STEP 1: GRANT ACCESS
Don’t worry about digging around for your MX Records and DNS Settings, just grant us access to your domain host and email service provider and we’ll find all the information we need for a seamless transfer.
STEP 2: FILE BACKUP + TRANSFER
We perform a 5-stage security checklist before we begin to migrate your data making sure that your data is 100% protected.
STEP 3: DNS UPDATE
At this stage we do a bunch of nerdy tech stuff – lots of industry jargon words at this stage. What you need to know about this stage is it can take up to 24 hours for the site to fully populate. It’s usually much, much less, the only transfers we see take this long are typically from Wix.
STEP 4: MIGRATION TESTING
Once your site has been migrated we test each page to make sure everything is performing as it ought to. It’s common to see broken images and icons at this stage while the files are being reconnected at the server level.
STEP 5: 24/7 MONITORING
For the first 72 hours after transfer we closely monitor your site to make sure it remains functional and accessible.
STEP 6: NOTIFICATION
Once we’ve seen things up and running smoothly for a couple days you’ll get the “all clear” from us!
